OAMC ~ Biscuit Dogs (hotdogs in biscuits)

We eat a lot of hot dogs 'round here. Mostly for lunch, but we definitely help keep Oscar Meyer in the black. ;D

During the school year, Blue Girl takes them to school for lunches too. I'll either just cut them up and give her some ketchup to dip them in, or we'll make them wrapped in biscuits.

Biscuit Dogs

1 - package of hot dogs
1 - can of refrigerated biscuits (you could make your own, I just can't get the biscuit thing down)

Open both up. Lightly flour your work surface.

Take one biscuit from the can and roll it out on your floured surface until it is large enough to wrap up the wiener in.

Wrap up the wiener making sure the ends are pressed closed.

Hint: Some people will slit the hot dog and place a piece of folded cheese in before wrapping in the biscuit. We just don't care for cheese in our hot dogs. You could also use croissants, we like a more substantial "bread" with ours.

Place on a slightly greased cookie sheet far enough apart that they won't touch when baked.

Bake at 350 for 15-18 min, until golden brown. (if using croissants, bake according to the directions on the can)

Let cool slightly then place in freezer for 1-2 hours.

Remove and individually wrapped each Biscuit Dog in foil or plastic and place into a zipper bag.

Keep in freezer until ready to eat.

Heating: Frozen ~ microwave on high for 1 1/2 min. Thawed ~ microwave on high for 30-40 seconds.
